Martha Kennerson is the Vice President of Marketing for the AMERIGROUP Houston, Texas health plan.  Martha has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and has over 20 years of diverse experience in managed care health plan operations, senior management, strategic planning, fiscal budgeting and marketing. With a proven track record for aggressively managing high-level and complex accountability efficiently and with enthusiasm for quality results, Martha started utilizing her skills to try to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

Martha has spent the last nine years working within the community in an effort to help bring solutions to healthcare disparities and trying to help find solutions to those social service and emotional needs that prevents individuals from moving forward beyond their current state regardless of their ethnic, educational or financial circumstances.

In an effort to get her message out to a broader audience, Martha has written a gripping new novel about survival titled Choices. While Choices has elements of a steamy romance, it’s a cautionary tale that takes a look at what can happen when love doesn’t turn out the way we expect and what happens when we refuse to deal with the pain of loss.

Martha has been married to her husband for 18 years and has four beautiful daughters. Her current blessings are only matched by the struggle it took to achieve such happiness. Life is full of ups and downs mostly due to the choices we make. However, sometimes the choices of others can have such a profound effect on us that it sends our world spinning out of control. How we choose to deal with those choices will define who we are.
